Mathieu Constantin

Mathieu Constantin was born in 1987 in Sierre, Switzerland and started playing the guitar at the age of seven at the Conservatory of Sion.  He exited the Conservatory in 2005 with excellent ratings in guitar, and the same year he took part in the Swiss Youth Music Competition, where he won first prize. From 2005 he continued his studies under George Vassilev, obtaining his teaching diploma in 2009 and his Master of Interpreting in 2011.

Alongside his guitar activities, Mathieu Constantin pursues a number of other interests including composition, research and creation. In 2007 He performed the Concerto Op. 15 by Guy Kummer-Nicolussi, a concert created specifically "for his fingers" according to the composer; and in 2009 he recorded Kummer-Nicolussi’s works for guitar ensemble.
